29.06.24
It was still a foggy day.
Everything was going according to schedule.
Or at least that promised to be true. As I was unwinding from a 2-hour class, I found myself immersed in my thoughts.
So I started walking. As I always do to calm down my mind.
To re-focus. To gain clarity.
I wondered. Or better should I say, I let my mind wander.
Staring at a beautiful sight: tall trees in front of me. Water falling, birds chirping, and the noisy cafeteria area behind me.
It all looked so familiar, yet it was starting to feel as if it wasn´t.
“Hey, come here.” I heard my friend calling me.
We hugged each other and started talking about how much we would miss this place.
“22 hours,” he said.
“22?”
“Yup.”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Well, we have only 22 hours left to enjoy our stay here, so we better decide what to do with them.”
All of a sudden, my thoughts ceased… and I started feeling all of the memories I had created.
From cool classes to funny moments alongside friends, all the way to meaningful lessons…
I had only 22 hours left…
And I was either going to suffer all along missing those memories, or I could look back, smile at them, and just have fun trying to make a few more.
I write this down because even though I have prepared myself for changes, for battles, for many upcoming plans and projects… I still long for things to be different.
I´m sure you can feel this human pressure too.
Trying to make sense between seasons, between moments where all of your surroundings start to feel different.
Time will pass, and you´ll need to make peace with that.
People, situations, projects… even your vision will change.
So what would you do if you had 22 hours left to enjoy your current reality, without change?
Would you make the best out of those 22 hours?
Will it make a real difference knowing you treasure those hours?
I think I might have slipped a couple of hours, but even though I sense I needed more hours before the closing stages… I know I did the best I could.
Make the best you can before you change.
Before you start a new project.
Before you move out.
Before you start to imagine the better version of yourself…
Before any new adventure you enroll in, make sure you end up the one you are currently in, the best way you can.
In the end, you could still have 24 hours, 188 hours… who knows.
You´ll know if you did your best to finish the story you started writing.
I count on you.
And if you are part of the people who spent their 22 hours left with me…
I deeply thank you. Those were 22 hours that will stay with me for a long time.
See you soon, friend.
