Lessons I Learned After Launching My First Book 📖 (Pt. I)
Don´t let anyone tell you half the story… (read ´till the end… it´s worth the surprise)
Let´s go back a few months… I was sitting at school. Hearing a lecture about a distant and foggy topic in my head right now.
Back in the day, I was so focused and immersed in this whole creation world, that sometimes even if there were just 5 minutes for us to catch a break between classes…
I would take them to work on a design project, write a rough draft of the week´s newsletter, or even hear the intense reflections and chat my favorite creators had to offer me (shoutout to Ali Abdaal and Danny Miranda).
And you might say I was quite draining myself from the inside out… just to be clear: I´m still that hardcore when it comes to managing my time “productively”.
I´m not saying it´s good for the long run, nor that you should.
I´m writing this as a little push and spark of inspiration that I can give you to start your own journey, finish that project you have due tomorrow, or even make that habit you have prolonged for so long to finally stick to your tight schedule.
There are seasons in life, and I want to produce and develop at my very peak when it comes to working season, as much as I can humanly can.
So, back to the lecture I was talking about… my mind was spinning with new ideas to implement in my community strategy, new ways to connect the vision with you and make you part of it.
It was in the middle of this storm of thoughts that the idea to write a book stroke.
For a long time, I knew I wanted to write a book.
I didn´t yet know the story I wished to tell, nevertheless, I was always eager to plan and push this concept so that when the day came, I was ready to make it a reality.
Was there anything else I could do rather than just staring there into the void of my thoughts contemplating the chance to get out and start to work on my vision?
Yes.. there was a little something: starting the book I had dreamt of writing for so long.
Instantly, I knew I wanted to make it a personal writing, meaning everything needed to come alive from experience and self-reflection, rather than searching online for never-ending sources of ultimate knowledge.
That´s why I chose to write a book based on life reflections.
On those silent emotions, on those never-ending thoughts about how you could have done better or even how you could have felt them better.
Some Words For Your Soul was being built in that tiny room, in that vast space in my head.
When it was time for me to leave the class, I had several ideas in my mind on how to keep writing the book. And three drafts worth of life reflections all packed up.
The main lesson here: the best place and time to start is… right now and right here.
You can wish and plan, re-organize, and push further the starting point, the main focus… but if you don´t start now, it´s more than probable that the one day may never come.
This was a petite glance at how it was for me the whole process of writing, creating, and designing my newest book: Some Words For Your Soul.
In case you are interested, I´ll do a second part explaining the rest of the journey: the never-ending re-writing, the months of revision and new designs made, and finally the culminating phase: the launch of the end piece.
- So, if all that fun stuff sounds great to you, stay tuned for Part II of this series where I´ll distill some of the main lessons I´ve acquired after publishing my first-ever book, and also…
I´ll be sending extra advice for new writers trying to get a solid grip on the world of content and online writing.
I´m so thrilled about the next steps ahead, and I count on you.
I´ll see you soon with some new lessons and stories friend.
Cheers,
- Alex ✌🏻

💭 The Lonely Reflection
There are no obstacles,
They are all full of magic.
There is something that makes them our path to walk.
We can't keep believing that without them
anything we do can be valued as worthy.
