The #1 Habit that Can Make or Brake Us
How you can achieve a trained mind and step forward in life.
Okay, it´s that time of the year. Yeah, we are going to talk about some of your favorite, productive, high-leverage themes in your life: reading. Btw, thanks for inspiring this read!
In today´s brew, we are going to discuss the importance of creating this reading culture in our lives, and why it matters. The tips and tricks for achieving a better reading habit will be discussed in another edition of the brew. But for instance, hop into this amazing read!
Reading is not precisely the action of scanning through words, it´s understanding their true significance.
These words are chosen and are written for a reason.
Hundreds of wisdom bits are thrown into books, articles, and essays each day that passes.
For us to acquire them we need a deep reading skill.
“The reading life is a deep life. The screen-filled life can be primitive and exhausting.”
- Cal Newport.
Reading is the practice that cultivates our intellectual realm.
One that dictates all of the realms we have at our disposal: physical, emotional, and spiritual.
Our mind needs constant irrigation of valuable ideas for it to function at its best.
Yet we seem to prefer to let it function at its worst.
See this quote from Maryanne Wolf´s article Deep Reading in a Digital Age: “Deep reading is our species´ bridge to novel thoughts.” Maryanne Wolf
We are losing a strong ability much needed in today´s society. Knowledge is everywhere and it means everything.
We skim through different things each day, and the battle for reasoning and attention, for credibility and clarity is up to the roof.
Why then are we losing our connection to real knowledge? To the training that guides us to true wisdom?
We want to have power yet we stop the journey of seizing it. Ultimate power is not found in the exterior promises.
Ultimate power relies on our ability to create said power.
What better way to do so than to achieve dominance over our minds, thoughts, and actions?
Reading helps us with that. It pushes us to:
New domains of expertise.
New thought processes.
Higher comprehension levels.
Higher abstraction levels.
All of these benefits can be seen in:
An overall better career development.
Higher grades if you are a student.
Faster analysis and writing abilities.
Better communication skills and incredible flexes when it comes to knowledge trivia.
But hey, Alex, reading will only consume my time…
No. Reading will put your time to work, as it flourishes your thoughts with better conceptions, with better explanations.
It unveils the true steps you want to give in your life.
Is your time better consumed playing video games all day? Watching endless content each day?
Or is it better invested in a couple of pages a day? The choice is yours.

⤴️ The Weekly Update
📚 Become hope for others. There´s no better feeling than taking other people´s feelings into account.
When hard times hit, you should aspire to be the one they call for advice, for a warm hug, for a solid conversation. That means you´ve prepared well enough yourself to spread all of your spark with others. That´s when you know you are a leader.
💡 Being human is hard. I read
newest essay: it´s not easy to be human. And … had a bunch of thoughts and realizations right after it.I´ll share them in the near future, but right now, I´d want you to think about your answer to this statement: would you change the challenge of being a human?
Comment it below or just keep it somewhere safe… I promise you´ll thank me later.
🎙️ How do you achieve success with your writing? Only viable answer: you write. Improve. You start thinking that your writing serves the readers and that your aim is trust and feeling, connection, and unique community building.
Success will come if you start feeling and writing for your readers, not for yourself. Or if you do the latter, do it with care and teaching. That´s the key.
⚔️ What I´ve worked on this week

Only valuable stuff, that´s my oath.
