The Art of Quitting Time 💭
“Time is a storm in which we are all lost. “ - William Carlos Williams.
Time…
Just a simple word, yet a powerful resource. We value it. We want more of it. So… can we answer what´s time?
Well, answering what is time is difficult. Not only because time is a measurement, we´ve established, is something we´ve created and perfectionated, but also because time in its nature is a timeless illusion.
Let me explain:
Many theories in Physics point out the fact that our perception of the flow of time between the past, our present, and the future is merely a lie.
Our time is a block in an infinite universe. Our actions can fix it to certain conditions, in a way leading its path.
We know how to mold time, but time isn´t something we can comprehend to its total extent.
With this conception in mind, many formulations about multiple scenarios, worlds, and shifts in our universe have taken place.
But the fact is lying beneath still: we can´t know what time will prevail, what part of the time we are measuring.
“Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.” William Penn
Now, for things to happen, at least in our reality, we need a change. And if our perception of time is a fixed or static entity, how exactly can events happen?
We have only two options, right? Either time is static, or it flows, and whether one of them is correct, well, only time could tell.
It´s a complex thing to deal with and think about, so is it worth trying to change it or control it?
The point here is: that no matter what we do, we can´t escape time, and time is just another illusion we have created for ourselves, the only difference is that this illusion is real on our level of perception.
That’s why it is important to use our time wisely, it´s important to learn how to enjoy our timeless time while we work on figuring out our physical one. The clue here is how we live our reality with time.
Our timeless time is present when we are in a peaceful state of mind when we can see the world for what it is, and we can´t tell the passing of seconds, minutes, or hours. If we learn to live our today completely on itself, we may learn to put the distress of time aside and enjoy our moment at last.
We can´t escape our physical time, hence it´s the way the world around us is constructed. The one thing we can change is our relation with our illusory time, the time we have for ourselves, for our thoughts and actions to flourish.
We can decide whether to leave thoughts aside, stress about them, or just let them be. We can decide which path we want our time to take.
Most of the things that occur in our lives happen in our present reality, and most of them are lived when experiencing true peace and connection with reality and time itself: those things are truly admired. That´s the magic of seeing the illusion of time for what it is.
Shall we not worry about our life clock, about any countdown?
We have the power to slip time when the moment requires it, so why not start living reality?
Let´s make space in our lives for us to enjoy a timeless path.
⤴️ The Weekly Update
📚 Embrace boredom. If you find yourself craving for distraction when you have an open time-space in front of you, there´s a problem to be addressed.
The ability to cultivate a present mind and a healthy mindset comes with the deliberate practice of finding peace in the “meaningless” things. If you enjoy your boredom from time to time, you´ll find joy outside of it.
💡 Everything threatening your identity will make you fly away. It´s a natural condition, if we are endangered, we run. But who has the final decision? Your thoughts or your mind? Be open to criticism but respect your work and value as a person.
🎙️ Episode #32 of the Bliss Bean Show by Beatrice Naujalyte. As a part-time content creator, a writer, an aspiring filmmaker and a student, I must say, I find thrilling all the work Beatrice has made so far: managing a YouTube channel, a personal brand, commitment to being a full-time student, writing a book, etc.
In this episode, she talks about many of these experiences and shows us that we can all achieve these milestones that are inside our heads. We need to trust them and act on them.
