The Relentless Search For Productivity Is Over: Here´s How To Master It.
Letters To A Friend. Collection I.
To @kenguient, a masterful online writer making a change in today´s working and knowledge era. Friend, I hope you receive this letter well, and also, I feel so grateful to have found your work and art. Let´s make of the new opportunities a good legacy to leave behind. Enhancing our living, for the good.
Fast-forward and it´s 2023 now.
You know what that means.
Work. Success. Achievements. More work.
Productivity seems to be the norm of our modern lives. Yet is it really the pillar?
We love to think that yes, indeed, productivity is the ultimate goal we look for, yet we are blind to the truth that lies in front of us. Productivity is the means to the higher end: which is harmony, time, and freedom.
Those are the real experiences and treasures of life.
So, we trick ourselves: being productive means having freedom later in life… and what about if that time doesn´t come around?
Productivity is not a constant.
Is not a race.
Treating your work as the ultimate goal to measure your day isn´t the health or way of life you might be looking for.
What about having time to connect with your family?
What about having time to invite some friends over?
What about having time to treat yourself righteously?
I´ve experienced burnout before due to the lack of moments I gave myself to enjoy the passage of time.
You might have experienced those feelings too. Feeling down, dizzy, or even unmotivated to continue doing the thing that keeps you rolling.
That´s why I´m changing the way I approach productivity or achieving growth in any activity or moment I do, create, or experience.
This one change is making all the difference.
I called it the “Harmony-Based Woking Method”.
In short: it allows anybody to work hard, be smarter, and focus on one task at a time. Ensuring the work is done, and that life can be enjoyed.
HBWM is the method I´ll use for the years to come.
Is the reminder I´ll work hard for what matters, intentionally driven to each step yet don´t forget to enjoy not only the process but the life it allows me to live.
That´s how you can master productivity too: defining what freedom means to you, and the actual processes you need to have in your life for you to get to that level.
For me, it´s:
Intention
Purpose
Focus Areas
Action Steps
Actually Living
That´s the model on which I base all of my “productivity”.
Being productive is just a feeling. It´ll lead you to achieve more.. so what are you going to do with the free time you get?
A proactive life will give you all the benefits you are looking for, and the good news: you´ll be rightfully productive every step of the way.
Master your productivity now. It´s time to make some real changes.
Thanks for reading the letter,
Alex

💭 The Lonely Reflection
Sometimes the lion inside me wants to live.
Wants to roar and share its magic.
That time will come.
For now, it´s just peace that I seek.

In our pursuit of productivity, we often forget that the real treasures in life are harmony, time, and freedom. Your focus on intentional living and finding the balance between work and personal life is much-needed. We've all experienced those moments of burnout, and your approach to redefining productivity is a breath of fresh air.
I enjoyed reading this and it resonated because I wrote something with some crossover themes a few days ago. Here’s my piece (in case it’s of interest) https://chezhanny.substack.com/p/a-note-from-the-bath
