On optimism and pessimism
Pessimists are often right. Optimists are often wealthy.
This phrase made me analyze the common debate between one another. First of all, I believe pessimists find comfort in seeing reality. Optimists also find comfort in seeing it, but they also see possible change, as for the formers, they see it needs to happen, but it will not.
There´s a fine line between realistic and pessimistic, as well as there is one between being positive and being crazy. Moderate your thoughts, and may I suggest… aspire for possible change.
On character
Confucius once stated: “Observe the errors, and you´ll know the person”.
And it´s somehow true. If you fail (spoiler: you will at some point), you´ll need to prove your character in those harsh moments, and the way you deal with obstacles, meaning, the way you treat yourself, the obstacle, and others on the limits of your strength, is the ultimate proof of the “humanity” inside you.
At our worst, our best is shown to the world.
On leading
After some time walking down the path of the development of a strong mind and will, I knew hard days were meant to come. And that I was preparing all along to face them.
It didn´t matter if I was ready or not. It didn´t matter if I could carry all the decision-making, all the consequences and actions involved.
What mattered where the difficulties, and if I could carry farther on, each time I thought of letting it all go. Being an example can be hard, but do you imagine being just a broken promise? Without difference? Without a purpose? Without growth?
Ah, just one more thing, if you want to continue improving your mental state, your focus, and overall, your presence of mind, join me and a deep community of learners that aim to construct a life on intention and depth.
We´ll chat later on this week´s life brew, so stay tuned for that. As always…
